About this course

Agentic IDEs, AI pair programming and review workflows that multiply what one developer can ship.

This is a focused 2-week bootcamp - short, intensive and built to give you one job-ready skill fast. It runs online in the August 2026 cohort (starting 1 August 2026) and is taught the EchoLens way: you learn by doing real, gradeable work rather than just watching lectures.

What's included

  • Live, instructor-led online sessions across 2 weeks (8 hours total).
  • Hands-on coding quests you solve inside the EchoLens browser compiler - nothing to install.
  • Gems, stages and a leaderboard that keep you moving instead of grade anxiety.
  • A verified certificate with a scannable QR code, ready to share on LinkedIn, when you finish.
  • The first week is open free so you can try the course before you pay.

What you will learn

The three modes: tab, chat, and agentWriting coding prompts and giving project contextEditing and refactoring code with AIDebugging for the cause, not just a patchMulti-file builds in agent mode with diff reviewAI-written tests, code review, and docsWorking in a real repo with gitThe rule that matters: review everything, own the code

Course learning outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • CLO 1. Use an AI coding tool's tab, chat and agent modes to generate, edit and refactor real code with clear prompts and project context.
  • CLO 2. Debug AI-assisted code for root cause rather than surface patches, and critically review AI-written tests, code and documentation.
  • CLO 3. Ship a multi-file feature built in agent mode inside a real git repository while owning and reviewing every line.

Course outline - class by class

8 classes, each with hands-on quests you clear in the portal - the whole first week is open free.

  • Class 1. Setup and the mental model - The three modes - tab to finish a line, chat to understand, agent to build - and the golden rule: you own the code
  • Class 2. Generating code that works - A good coding prompt: goal, language, constraints, an example - then iterate in follow-ups and test everything
  • Class 3. Editing and refactoring - Selecting code and asking for a precise change - renames, extractions, readability - without breaking behaviour
  • Class 4. Debugging with AI - Feed the error, stack trace and code - ask for the cause, not just a patch - and trace problems with AI-added logging
  • Class 5. Building an app with agent mode - Multi-file agent builds: describe the whole feature up front, review every diff, keep steps small and checkable
  • Class 6. Review, tests, and docs - AI-written tests you actually read, an AI code review on your own file, docs generation and the edge cases you missed
  • Class 7. Working in a real repo - Repo context, one small scoped change, AI commit messages, finding where features live, resolving conflicts
  • Class 8. Capstone: ship it, responsibly - Spec it, build it mostly with AI, verify by hand and with tests, and be able to explain every line you shipped

How you submit: Coding quests in the built-in compiler with an AI copilot beside the editor - exactly the Cursor/Copilot workflow the course teaches.

A Shipped, Reviewed Web App

A live, deployed app you can defend line by line. The portfolio piece.

One small but complete web application, built mostly with AI tools, then reviewed, tested and deployed to a real URL. The point is not that the AI wrote it - it is that you own it: every file understood, every change reviewed, the whole thing running in public.

  • A clear one-page spec written before any code
  • A working app with a real feature set (task manager, expense tracker, or a small API-backed tool) built across several files in agent mode
  • Tests written with AI and passing, including at least two edge cases
  • One AI code review pass with the fixes actually applied
  • A README covering setup and what the app does
  • A public repo with clean, clear commit messages
  • A live deployed URL on a free host
  • Two lines on what you did versus what the AI did

Shipped when: The live URL works, the tests pass, the code sits in a public repo with clean history, and you can open any file and explain it.

Who it's for

AI-Assisted Coding with Cursor, Claude & Copilot suits learners at a beginner level who want a practical, project-based route into AI-Assisted Coding with Cursor. You need only a browser and an internet connection - all coding runs inside the EchoLens compiler, so there is nothing to set up.

Certificate

Finish every stage and EchoLens issues a verified certificate carrying a QR code anyone can scan to confirm it on our site. You can add it to your CV or share it to LinkedIn in one click.
